I recently received an invite to attend the 20th Anniversary of Willow’s Eat to the Beat on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 7 pm in Roy Thomson Hall (60 Simcoe Street, Toronto).
This will be my first time attending but I admire that the event benefits a good cause – the Willow Breast & Hereditary Cancer Support. Founded in 1994, Willow is a not-for-profit organization that offers free peer support to anyone coping with breast cancer. Started 20 years ago by Lisa and Abby Slater, Eat to the Beat has raised more than $3.7 million for Willow. In keeping with tradition and adding a bit of sass with class, the event will also feature breast cancer survivors modelling original food-inspired corsets that they have created.
Guests will also have access to 60 female chefs, who are donating their time and talent for the event, and will tempt foodies by personally preparing their specialties on-site. Sweet and savory delicacies, premium beers, wines and spirits will be set up around Roy Thomson’s Hall’s outer lobby while Toronto band Arden & The Tourists perform.
Tickets are $175 (with a tax receipt) and include all food and beverages. For tickets or to see the line-up of chefs to date as well as beverage participants, please visit http://www.eattothebeat.ca/ or call 416.778.6314 x 236.
Exciting news! Thanks to The Results Group PR, I have also been generously gifted a pair of tickets to giveaway to ONE lucky TorontoFoodie.net follower. Open to legal residents of Ontario, Canada who are eighteen (18) years of age or older. Contest will begin on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 and end on Friday, October 23, 2015. Approximate retail value of the prize is $350.00 CAD. Once winner is selected, I will try to notify you through a Facebook message and/or email. Should I receive no reply after 24 hours of notification, I will move onto the next candidate.
