[MEDIA] ONE Restaurant ★★★★★

Disclaimer: Thanks to BrandingandBuzzing, I was given the opportunity to attend an intimate media dinner at ONE Restaurant last year with a few fellow foodies. Had a wonderful time sampling the menu and getting to know everyone. I definitely felt spoiled! The menu has probably changed by now but I would still recommend dining here if you haven’t already.

Price: Over $50+

Situated in the heart of Yorkville and part of The McEwan Group from celebrity chef Mark McEwan, ONE is a hotspot to see and be seen as cliche as that term is. Their outdoor patio is very popular if you like to people watch and perhaps spot a celebrity. Especially when festivals like TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) roll out. Look out for those taller than usual shrubs, you never know who might be behind it!

Food was continuously rolled out during the dinner, so it is a bit difficult to individually label them all. I am just going to list all the food we tried, with my favourites being the risotto and white chocolate cheesecake.

  • Appetizers: butter chicken tacos, lobster spoons, calamari, lettuce tuna wraps, truffled forked potato
  • Main:  halibut, pickerel, smoked lamb loin, B.C. black cod, and risotto
  • Dessert: s’mores doughnuts, dark bunt cake, and white chocolate cheesecake
  • Drink: approaching lavender drink, after the garden

Overall, the restaurant is quite nice and service is polite and professional. I would recommend this place for lunches or dinners with family, friends or co-workers.
